On my home page I mentioned just how much diversity Tenerife has, and that goes for the places to see and things to do.

On this page I've listed a number of my recommended places to visit in Tenerife which runs into quite a comprehensive tenerife guide, it' not by any means definitive but gives you a good overview.

No matter what you want to do on holiday, Tenerife will have something for you, be it golf, water parks, history, or just a sandy beach to lie on and soak up the sun...

The No.1 attraction in terms of visitor numbers is the Loro Parque in the north of the Island near Puerto de la Cruz, it's a premier family attraction which mixes being a tropical wildlife park with conservation, education and fun.

While your up in that neck of the woods Puerto de la Cruz is a great place to visit. the second most important town in Tenerife with it's more lush surroundings than in arid south, and the shopping is cheaper.

The next on the list, and probably the most famous symbol of Tenerife is Mount Teide. As Tenerife is one large lava mound which rises above the sea, Mount Teide caps it all, and is actually Spain's highest peak, but it is much more than just a volcano which helped create Tenerife, be careful though it's not dormant!

La Orotava, the sleepy hillside town is a mystical place, and especially the 17th century Mansion Casa de los Balcones, there's some nice little restaurants and gift shops in the village also.

The Dragon Tree of Icod de los Vinos is a strange looking thing but surrounded my mystery and fantasy but at 600 years it is Tenerife's oldest tree.

Overlooking the course green and the sea in the distance

Stunning golf locations! even if your rounds not?

Garachico, it was Tenerife's busiest port and was created in 1496 but was destroyed on the 5th of May in 1706 by the Volcan Negro...

Los Gigantes or"The Giants" translated into English, the 600 metre high shear cliff face that soars from blue sea to bly sky.

Mercado Nuestra Senora de Africa, at Santa Cruz is the main fresh produce market of Tenerife and is full of vibrant colours and energy you also might pick up a bargain or two.

La Gomera, Tenerife's Sister Island lies 20 miles or so off the Southern coast, but in contrast to the arid shoreline of Tenerife, La Gomera is Lush, mysterious and beautiful, take the car, it's a breathtaking drive.

Santa Cruz, Tenerife's capital and it's commercial heart. It is very different than the South, Santa Cruz is much more traditionally Spanish in its architecture, it's got a different buzz around it, but there is lots to see, well worth a look!

Golf del Sur is a top notch golf complex, just 15 mins from Reina Sofia airport, it has a championship golf course, but includes hotels, shopping and other leisure pastimes.
